Overview

Googly X Uchiha puts a pair of animated eyes in your macOS menu bar that track your cursor in real time. It's part desktop toy, part conversation starter — and surprisingly delightful to use every day.

The app features 17 eye styles ranging from classic procedurally-drawn googly eyes to detailed Sharingan and Rinnegan designs from the Naruto anime universe. Each style is rendered using Core Graphics at native resolution, and the eyes follow your cursor at a smooth 60 FPS.

How It Works

  • Step 1: Install — Download the DMG, drag to Applications, and launch
  • Step 2: Pick a style — Right-click the menu bar eyes to choose from 17 eye styles
  • Step 3: Enjoy — Eyes follow your cursor everywhere, blink on click, and spin on command

Key Features

Real-Time Cursor Tracking

Eyes follow your cursor across the entire screen at ~60 FPS using Core Graphics. The movement is smooth, responsive, and surprisingly natural.

17 Eye Styles

Choose from classic googly eyes or 16 Naruto-themed designs:
  • Sharingan: Three Tomoe, Itachi, Sasuke, Kakashi/Obito, Izuna, Madara, Hagoromo
  • Mangekyo Sharingan: Itachi, Sasuke, Eternal, Indra, Madara, Shisui, Kamui
  • Legendary Eyes: Rinnegan, Rinne-Sharingan, Byakugan

Blink Animation

Eyes smoothly blink every time you click — a 0.15-second close/open animation that makes them feel alive.

Spinning Animation

Toggle optional tomoe and pattern rotation for Sharingan styles. The spinning is smooth and stays in sync with the eye's tracking.

Persistent Preferences

Your chosen eye style, spin setting, and preferences are saved automatically. Launch and forget — your setup is always there.

Menu Bar Only

No Dock icon, no windows, no clutter. Everything is controlled from a right-click context menu on the eyes themselves.

Verdict

Googly X Uchiha is pure fun. If you spend hours staring at your screen, you might as well have something staring back. The Sharingan styles are surprisingly well-crafted for a menu bar app, and at $4.99 with a lifetime license, it's an easy impulse buy for any Naruto fan with a Mac.
